Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how Planet Royale ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit www.planetroyale.com.au, book a table, attend our venue at 12 Lake Street Northbridge, or interact with us in any way. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We collect personal information you give us when you:
- Make a table booking (name, email, phone, party size, date, time, dietary requirements)
- Make a functions enquiry (name, email, phone, event details)
- Buy a ticket through our ticketing partners
- Sign up for a newsletter or follow us on social media
- Contact us by email or phone
We also collect non-identifying technical data automatically when you visit this site - browser type, device, operating system, page views and approximate location - for analytics and security.
How we use it
- To process your booking, ticket, or functions enquiry
- To send you booking confirmations, reminders and post-visit follow-ups
- To send marketing about events, promotions and new menu items - only if you've opted in, and you can opt out any time
- To improve our website, menu and venue based on feedback and usage patterns
- To meet legal obligations (e.g. licensing, RSA, tax)
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the venue:
- NowBookIt - for table reservations
- Uber Eats - when you order delivery (Uber Eats holds and processes its own customer data; we receive only the order details)
- Ticketmaster / Megatix / Humanitix (or whichever partner sells tickets to a given show) - for theatre tickets
- Plausible Analytics (cookieless, EU-hosted, no cross-site tracking) for traffic analysis
- Behold.so for embedding the live Instagram feed on the homepage
- Mailchimp - for managing our newsletter subscriber list and sending email campaigns (US-based; subscribers may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email)
- Australian regulators when required by law
We don't sell your personal information.
How we store and protect it
Personal information is stored on systems operated by us or our service providers, with industry-standard security (encryption in transit, access controls, regular review). We retain information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, plus any legal retention periods.
Cookies and tracking
We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless - it does not set cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. It records anonymised page views, referrers and approximate location only.
The third-party tools embedded on this site may set their own cookies if you interact with them:
- NowBookIt booking widget - session cookies so your reservation flow works
- Behold.so Instagram feed - minimal performance/caching cookies
- External link destinations (Ticketmaster, Uber Eats, Megatix) - their own cookies on their own sites
We also store a small amount of data locally on your device (browser localStorage) to remember things like whether you've dismissed the install prompt or seen this privacy notice. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings - the booking flow may not work fully without them.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information (subject to legal retention)
- Withdraw your consent for marketing at any time
- Make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when. Material changes will be noted on the homepage.
